Dragon Pattern Gaiwan | Porcelain 3 Colors Red Yellow Black
Dragon Pattern Gaiwan — Porcelain 3 Colors Gongfu
The Gaiwan (covered cup, known as "zhong" or "cha chung" in Cantonese) has been an essential vessel in Chinese tea culture since around 1350. This dragon pattern porcelain gaiwan combines timeless cultural symbolism with practical gongfu brewing versatility — available in Red, Yellow, or Black to suit your aesthetic.
The classic three-piece design — saucer, bowl, and lid — works seamlessly together for both brewing and drinking. Use the lid as a strainer to rinse the leaves, inhale the awakened aroma, then pour fresh water and brew directly in the gaiwan. Alternatively, use it as a teapot and decant into a fair cup or individual tasting cups. A wonderfully versatile brewing method for any type of tea — simply adjust water temperature and steeping time.
How to Use
1. Place tea leaves in the bottom of the gaiwan.
2. Pour boiling water to halfway — immediately drain using the lid as a strainer to rinse the leaves.
3. Inhale the aroma from the rinsed leaves.
4. Pour fresh boiling water down the inside of the cup to set the leaves swirling.
5. Brew and drink directly, or decant into a fair cup or tasting cups.
