Chinese Clay Teapot – Nixing Handmade Dezhong Design

Revered among tea connoisseurs, this Nixing clay teapot in the classic Dezhong (De Zhong) form is an indispensable piece for any serious tea collection. Crafted from distinctive raw Ni Xing clay — a mineral-rich earthenware unique to Guangxi, China — it enhances both aroma and flavor through long-term use, becoming more refined and personal with every brew.

Why Nixing Clay?

Nixing clay’s naturally sandy, porous structure transfers heat slowly, providing exceptional thermal stability — it resists sudden temperature changes and can even be heated directly without cracking. Its strong adsorption properties allow it to continuously absorb tea aroma during use, gradually developing a natural tea fragrance and a smooth, mellow patina the more it is used.

  • Excellent thermal stability — slow heat transfer, crack-resistant, direct-heat safe
