This plum tree stump teapot is inspired by the organic form of a weathered plum trunk — the craftsman hand-carves every grain of bark texture into the body, while the spout and handle follow the natural curvature of living branches. The plum blossom lid knob completes the composition. Narrow at the top, wide at the base — perfectly stable, perfectly balanced.

About the Maker — Jiang Jingming

Born 1965 in Yixing, Jiang Jingming is a Chinese ceramist and member of the Chinese Society of Arts and Crafts. He began pottery creation in 1982, studying ceramic modeling design at the Academy of Arts and Crafts under Fan Yongliang — master of ceramic art in Jiangsu Province. His works pursue beautiful form and smooth lines, inheriting tradition while focusing on innovation. His “Lotus Pot,” “Love Pot,” and “Junzhu Pot” each won third prize at the Yixing Pottery Festival for three consecutive years. His works are held by museums and collectors in China and abroad.
