Tenmoku Jian Zhan Gongfu Tea Set | 10-Piece
Tenmoku Jian Zhan Gongfu Tea Set
Born from the legendary kilns of the Song Dynasty, this handcrafted Tenmoku Jian Zhan tea set carries over a thousand years of ceramic heritage. Sourced from Houjing Village, Shuiji Town, Jianyang — the historic site of the original Jianzhan Dragon Kiln — each piece is made from red ore glaze stone with up to 8% iron content, carefully prepared for uniform texture and minimal gravel.
Fired at 1350°C for 72 hours across 21 meticulous processes, each piece undergoes variable-temperature glazing that produces bright, shifting, one-of-a-kind patterns. No two sets are ever identical. Available in Blue or Purple glaze.
Why Jian Zhan?
- Iron-Rich Clay: High iron content creates the signature metallic luster and variable glaze patterns unique to Tenmoku ware
- Extreme Firing: 1350°C kiln temperature and 72-hour firing cycle produce exceptional density and durability
- Every Piece Unique: Variable-temperature glazing ensures no two sets share the same pattern
- Built-In Filter: Integrated strainer filters tea residue cleanly for a pure, smooth pour
- Polished Base: Protects table surfaces while adding a refined finishing detail
